Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 2 cups basmati rice(soaked)

  • 3 to 4 cups water

  • 1 tspn haldi pwdr

  • 4 tbsp ghee

  • 1 pinch of yellow food color

  • 4-5 saffron strands soaked in warm water

  • 3-4 stick cloves

  • 2-3 whole elaichi

  • 6 - 8 tbsp sugar

  • 1 cup sliced mix dry fruits

  • 1 stick cinnamon

Directions

    In a vessel boil water. Add haldi pwdr . Add the soaked rice once tbe water starts to boil. When 70% done strain in a colander & keep aside

    Heat ghee in a vessel. Add cloves,elaichi,cinnamon. Let it crackle. Add sugar & mix well. Once the sugar melts add the rice . Also add the sliced dry fruits & yellow color.

    Mix well & cover it. Cook on very low flame until the rice soaks up the sugar & its fluffy. Add the soaked saffron strands . Drizzle more ghee for more enhanced flavor

    serve hot
