Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rava / sooji


  • 1 cup grated yellow / green cucumber


  • 1/4 cup dry coconut powder


  • 2 tsp green cardamom powder


  • 6-7 almonds finely chopped


  • 1 tsp clarified butter for greasing


  • 3/4 cup jaggery powder

Directions

  • First in a pan dry roast rava for about 5-6 minutes In a low flame . Let it cool down .
  • Now in a big bowl take all dry ingredients as roasted rava , jaggery powder ,cardamom powder , and dry coconut powder . Mix all ingredients well.
  • Now take grated cucumber and add this into dry ingredients . Add chopped almonds too and mix well.Don't add any milk or liquid . Cucumber water is sufficient for batter . Batter should not be very thin.
  • Now grease the plate or tin with clarified butter and pour batter on it . Steam it for about 15-20 minutes . Turn off the burner and let it cool down .
  • Tavsali is ready to serve .Cut into small pieces and garnish with chopped almonds .
