Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Semolina/Rava-2 cup

  • Curd-2 cup

  • Capsicum -1

  • Carrot -2

  • Coriander leaves chopped -2tbsp

  • Green Chilli -2

  • Mustard Seeds-1/2 tbsp

  • Chana Dal-1 tbsp

  • Urad dal -1tbsp

  • Eno fruit salt-2 tbsp

  • Salt to taste

  • Cooking Oil

Directions

    Take a mixing bowl, add rava, curd and salt into it, mix it well and let it rest for 1/2 an hour.

    Meanwhile,finely chop the capsicum,coriander leaves and green chillies. Grate the carrot as well.

    After 1/2 an hour, add the chopped vegetables except green chillies and sufficient water in the idli batter to make a semi-thick consistency of batter.

    Heat oil in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and green chillies into it. Saute it for few seconds and then pour the tadka in the batter. Mix it well and then add eno into it. Mix it in one direction.

    Heat a steamer containing water,grease the idli moulds with oil, pour the idli batter in it and place the moulds into the steamer and cover it with its lid.

    Cook it for 5 minutes on medium-high flame and then lower the flame and cook it for 10 minutes and then switch off the flame.

    Take the moulds out of the steamer, keep it aside for 2 minutes to cool and then remove it from the moulds and then serve it with any chutney.
