Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups chickpeas


  • 1 onion finely chopped


  • 3 tomato puree


  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder


  • 1 tablespoons red chilli powder


  • 1 tablespoons Coriander powder


  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder


  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds


  • 1/2 teaspoon asafetida


  • 1 tablespoons ginger garlic paste


  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi


  • 1 tablespoons tomato sauce


  • 1 teaspoon salt


  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

  • Boil the chana with some salt till soft .
  • In a deep pan add oil and crackle cumin seeds and asafetida for 1 minutes .
  • Add the onions , ginger and garlic paste and saute til golden brown in colors .
  • Add in all spices and cook till oil separates . Pour in the tomato puree and cook till oil separate . Now add a dash of tomato sauce and mix well .
  • Add in the chana and mix well till everything is combined . Add in some salt and sugar and mix well .
  • Now pour in water and bring to boil . Cover and simmer till oil separate .
  • Squeeze in some lemon juice .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and spring onion .
