Soak tamarind in warm water for 45 minutes
extract the tamarind Pulp and discard the waste
pressure cook The Dal, 1/2 TSP turmeric and water until Done. mash dal and keep it aside
Masala preparation::heat oil in a pan add dals and fenugreek seeds. saute until golden brown
add coriander seeds dry red chilli shallots and curry leaves ,mix well
Add grated coconut and saute until Brown
allow the mixture to cool completely. grind with water to form smooth paste
pressure cook all the vegetables for one whistle with little water and 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
Add cooked Dal, tamarind pulp , ground paste , tomatoes salt and ladies finger to cooked vegetables
bring to boil, simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes
Heat oil in a small pan, add hing and splutter mustard seeds
Add dry red chilli and curry leaves. Saute for few seconds
Add seasoning and coriander leaves to sambar and mix well
Serve hot
