Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 1/2 an hour.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, black and green cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf. When cumin seeds crackle, add soaked and drained rice into it, mix it and then add salt into it, mix it well.
Stir till ghee coats every grain of rice and it looks glossy. Then add equal amount of water as that of rice into it. Cover the cooker with its lid and then cook it for 2 whistle on high flame and then switch off the flame.
Open the cooker when pressure reduces completely and serve it hot with any curry.
