Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 150 gms tur dal..ings for sambhar


  • 1 oniion


  • 1 potato


  • 6 tomatoes make a puree


  • 4_5 green chillies


  • 8_10 curry leaves


  • 2 tbsp coriander


  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tbsp sambhar masala


  • 2 tsp garam masala


  • 1 tbsp salt


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 5 tbsp oil


  • 1/2 cup tamarind pulp


  • 250 gms urad dal (soakfor 1/2 hr)...ings forwada


  • 2 cups poha wash drain & leave ina strainer to dry


  • 1/2 cup makhai flour


  • 1 tbsp tata salt


  • 4 green chillies


  • 2 tsp cumin seeds

Directions

  • Method for sambhar
  • Boil tur dal along with 1 onion and potato cut into very small pieces.
  • Meanwhile in another pan heat oil add mustard seeds wen they start spiltering add onion cut into lenghtwise n saute till pinkish.
  • Add green chillies curry leaves n stir well ..
  • Now add red chilli powder n mix well. Add the tomato puree salt and cook on medium flame till oil seperates.
  • Add the boiled dal ..but before adding the dal. Jst mix it well with the wooden dal ghotni so that onion & potato gets mashed n there are no lumpsin dal..
  • Add the tamarind pulp n let it boil for 15_20 mins..
  • Finally at the last add sambhar masala stir well n off the flame..
  • Garnish with coriander.
  • Now take 1 tbsp of oil and 1 tsp of red chilli powder..and give tadka.(optional)

  • Firstly grind dal along with cumins seeds n green chillies in a mixer by adding 1/2 cup water.
  • Remove in a bowl.
  • Now grind poha just give 2_3 rounds. Add poha to to dal batter.
  • Now add makhai flour. Add salt andmix well.
  • Your batter should be thicker than what you make for idlis.
  • Now make shape of medu wada and deep fry on mefium flame.
  • Serve with hot sambhar & chutney.
