Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Urad Dal 250 grams


  • Salt 1 teaspoon


  • Curd 200 grams


  • Sugar 2 teaspoon


  • Hing 1/4 teaspoon


  • Fresh Coriander 1 bunch


  • Green Chillies 2


  • Garlic cloves 5


  • Tamarind 25 grams


  • Jaggery 1 tablespoon


  • Red Chilli powder 1 tsp


  • Dry Ginger powder 1/2 teaspoon


  • Chat masala 2 tablespoon


  • Garam Masala 1 tsp


  • Warm Water 2-3 cups to soak bhallas


  • Oil 2 cups to deep fry bhallas

Directions

  • Soak the dal overnight or 4 hours.Drain the water and grind well. Add 1 pinch of salt in it and whisk with hands so that it become a fluffy.
  • In a blender add coriander, garlic, chillies and salt. Grind well to make green chutney.
  • Take tamarind and dissolve in water for 10 mins Remove pulp and add ginger powder jaggery and red chilli powder. Add Chat masala
  • Cook this for 5 to 10 minutes till it become a a bit thick
  • Whisk curd properly . Add sugar and mix well.
  • In a pan heat oil Drop spoon sized balls of the dal.
  • Deep fry till golden brown Dip in warm water.
  • After 15 minutes.Squeeze out water from bhallas
  • Add sweetened curd, green chutney, tamarind chutney
  • Sprinkle some red chilli powder and chat masala, cumin powder.
  • Garnish with Mint leaves .
