Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • Kidney beans or rajma 250 grams


  • Oil 1 tablespoon


  • Jeera or cumin seeds 1 teaspoon


  • turmeric 1/2 powder teaspoon


  • red chilli 1 powder teaspoon


  • Everest rajma masala 1-2 teaspoons


  • coriander powder 1 teaspoon


  • ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon


  • onion paste 2 cups


  • tomato paste 2 cups

Directions

  • first of all wash properly kidney beans and soak in sufficient water for 5 to 6 hours
  • after 5 to 6 hours, add salt to soak rajma and pressure cook it for 5 to 6 whistle
  • rajma should be soft enough, press it gently to check
  • now take 1 to 2 tablespoon of oil in a heavy bottom pan and add jeera
  • immediately add onion paste and ginger garlic paste and saute' till oil separates
  • now add tomato paste , turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute' for sometime
  • now at 1 - 2 teaspoon of Everest rajma masala and mix well
  • add boiled rajma or kidney beans to the masala and mix well
  • add some water to adjust the consistency
  • As per taste, add some salt again to adjust the taste
  • now cook rajma masala , covered for next 5 to 10 minutes on low heat and it is ready to serve
  • garnish with some green chillies and coriander and serve hot with steamed rice, phulka, Chapati or paratha
