Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 3 nos dry red chillies


  • 1 inch cinnamon


  • 2 nos cardamom pods


  • 3 nos cloves


  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds


  • 1 tsp fennel seeds


  • 50 gms grated coconut


  • 2 tsp ginger


  • 10 nos curry leaves


  • 2 nos onions sliced finely


  • 3 nos tomatoes


  • 1/2 kgs chicken


  • 1 pinch salt to taste


  • 2 nos limes

Directions

  • Take a pan and roast Cumin,poppy seeds,fennel seeds,dry red chillies,cinnamon,cardamom,cloves and coconut
  • Then grind it to fine powder.
  • Heat oil in pan and add curry leaves.add the sliced onions and fry till they are light brown then add the crushed garlic and ginger
  • Add the ground spices and star anise and fry for a minute
  • add the tomatoes, turmeric, salt and stir in the chilli powder.
  • Add the chicken, cover and leave to simmer on the lowest setting until it is tender about 25 minutes.
  • Once chicken is cooked squeeze lime and remove from heat
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
