Description

Kadhai paneer is a punjabi gravy dish which is creamy and rich and mainly offered for lunch and dinner. It can be made dry or semi dry.  This is a unique combination of paneer and spices which goes very well with Indian breads like Butter and Garlic Naan or chapatis

Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 300 gms paneer/cottage cheese, cubed


  • 4to 5 medium tomatoes chopped


  • 1 or 2 green chilies


  • 6-7 garlic pods crushed


  • 1 inch ginger half crushed and half julienned


  • 2 green capsicum, julienned


  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder


  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder


  • 1 teaspoon crushed kasuri methi(optional)


  • 1 tablespoon paneer masala


  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder


  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander


  • 1 tablespoon oil


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste

Directions

  • Take a wok and add 1 tablespoon of oil and garlic with crushed ginger.
  • Sauté till raw smell goes away.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and sauté for a minute or till they are soft.
  • Add spice powders to tomatoes and sauté till the mixture turns like a paste and oil separates.
  • Add capsicum julienne and the chopped chillies. Sauté capsicum for 5 minutes Add paneer masala, salt and garam masala and mix well.
  • Add the paneer and cook for about three minutes and finally add kasuri methi, coriander leaves and ginger julienne.
  • Mix well gently for two to three minutes and serve Kadhai Paneer hot with roti, chapati or naan.
