Description

Paneer bhurji is a slightly spicy and delightful Indian semi dry paneer dish that can be served as an accompaniment with naan, rumali rotis, lachha paranthas for dinner and its truly irresistible.

Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 2 cups crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)


  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)


  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions


  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes, deseeded


  • 1 teaspoon Paneer masala


  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste


  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)


  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder


  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped green chillies


  • 2 teaspoon oil


  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala


  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste


  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves for the garnish

Directions

  • Heat the oil in a wok and add the cumin seeds.
  • When the seeds crackle, add the onions and sauté on a high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes, ginger garlic paste and 2 tablespoons of water.
  • Mix well and cook on a slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  • Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, paneer masala, green chillies.
  • Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  • Add the crumbled paneer, salt, garam masala and coriander leaves and 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with naan, roomali roti or Lachha paranthas
