Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 200g cubed fresh paneer

  • 2 tbsp ghee

  • 3 tsp oil

  • 1-2 green chillies

  • 1 inch ginger

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 1 big onion chopped

  • 2 small tomatoes chopped

  • 13-15 cashews

  • 2 tbsp yoghurt

  • 2 cloves

  • 2 green cardamom seeds

  • 1 black cardamom seeds

  • 1 strand mace

  • 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup water

  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 5-6 peppercorns

Directions

    Fry paneer lightly in ghee and keep it aside

    In same pan, heat oil, add whole spices and saute until aromatic

  • 03

    Add onions and saute until translucent

  • 04

    Add ginger garlic and green chillies, saute for 2-3 minutes

    Add tomatoes, cashews and turmeric, saute until tomatoes are soft

    Allow to cool completely. Grind with yoghurt to smooth paste

    Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add ground paste and saute until oil starts leaving sides. Add water and salt.Bring to boil

    Add paneer. Mix and cook for 2 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with roti or naan
