Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 tsp oil 2 tbsp oil


  • 1 onion chopped


  • 2 tomatoes chopped


  • 3 garlic cloves


  • 1 inch Ginger


  • 10 to 12 cashew nuts


  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera


  • 1 inch cinnamon


  • 1 bay leaf


  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder


  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric


  • 3/4 teaspoon coriander powder


  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala


  • 1 cup water


  • 2 tbsp yoghurt/cream


  • 1/2 cup peas


  • 200g cubed fresh paneer


  • 1 tsp crushed kasuri methi


  • 1/2-1 teaspoon sugar


  • 1 TSP salt


  • 1/4 tsp fennel powder (optional)


  • 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Directions

  • In a pan, heat 2 tsp oil, saute onions, ginger and garlic until onions are translucent
  • Add tomatoes and cashews and saute until tomatoes are soft
  • Allow to cool completely and grind to smooth paste
  • Heat remaining oil in a pan, add bay leaf, cinnamon and splutter cumin seeds
  • Add red chilli powder and turmeric. Mix well
  • Add ground paste, spice powders , sugar and salt
  • Saute until oil starts leaving sides of the pan
  • Add water and bring to boil
  • Add peas and paneer, cook for 10 minutes
  • Add crushed kasuri methi and cream/curd. Mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or naan
