Chicken - 1 kilo
Yogurt - 1 cup
Onion - 2 , large
Green chili paste - 2 tsp
Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Salt - 2-3 tsp or as required
Sugar - 1 tsp
Bay leaves - 2
Green cardamom - 3
Cloves - 3 -4
Garam masala powder - 1 -2 tsp
Kewra water - 1 -2 tsp
Cashew nuts - 7-8
Melon seeds / Magaz - 1 tbsp
Ghee - 3 -4 tbsp
wash chicken properly then marinate chicken with 1 /2 cup yoghurt ,ginger garlic paste , green chili paste ,turmeric powder , coriander powder , salt and sugar for 1 hr.
soak cashew nuts and melon seeds in a warm water for 15 to 20 minutes Now Heat a Pan with 3 to 4 tbsp oil then fry one sliced onion till browned.
take out brown onion from the pan then put brown onion into the Blender along with half cup yoghurt and soaked cashew nuts and melon seeds. and then blend till smooth paste..keep aside.
Heat the same pan with remaining oil then add 2 to 3 tablespoon of ghee
then add bay leaves ,green cardamom and cloves.
once you get a nice Aroma then add one slice onion and then fry till light brown.
Then add Marinated chicken along with the Marination and stir continuously for 4 to 5 minutes
then the yoghurt ,cashew nut and brown onion mixture into the chicken and mix well everything..
Once the chicken starts to separate oil , add 1 cup water and give a good stair..
now cover the pan and cook the chicken on low flame 10 to 15 minutes or till the chicken cook through..
when the chicken became tender ,add garam masala powder and kewra water and give a good stirr to Mix well...
Now check seasoning and keep gravy as per your desire consistency..
