Grind ginger-garlic into a smooth paste. Chop onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves. Boil raw bananas and peel once cooled. Mash thoroughly.
Mix mashed bananas, gram flour, chopped coriander leaves, 1tbsp of ginger-garlic paste, half the red chilli powder and salt to taste.
Knead it in a dough, divide it into 10-12 equal portions. Shape them into round koftas.
Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai and deep fry koftas on medium heat till golden brown.
Drain it and place it on absorbent paper. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaf into it, saute it and then add sliced onions into it.
Saute till onion turns translucent and add remaining ginger-garlic paste into it, saute it for 1 minute and then add remaining red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt into it.
Cook all on low-medium flame for 2 minutes and then add chopped tomatoes into it. Cook on low heat by stirring it continuously till oil separates.
Add garam masala powder and 2 cups of water to it and bring the gravy to a boil. Reduce the heat and then add fried koftas in it. Simmer it for 5 minutes and then switch off the flame and serve hot.
