Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1 cups split chana dal (soaked and drained)


  • 2 tbsp finely chopped onions


  • 1 tsp ginger


  • 2 nos green chillies


  • 6-8 nos curry leaves


  • 1 tbsp dried corainder leaves(optional)


  • 1/4 tsp dried curry leaves powder


  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds


  • 1/2 tsp coarsely crushed coriander seeds


  • 1 cups oil for deep frying


  • 1 tsp salt ( as per taste)

Directions

  • Blend chana dal green chillies , ginger , green chillies ,dried coriander leaves into a coarse paste.
  • Transfer in a bowl.
  • Add onion , salt , red chilli powder , coarsely crushed corainder seeds and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into vadas
  • Deep fry these vadas till golden brown.
  • Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Serve hot with tomato sauce and green chutney.
