Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 3/4 cups chana dal cup soaked in water for 5 hours


  • 3/4 cups moong dal soaked in water for 5 hours


  • 3/4 cups urad dal soaked in water for 5 hours


  • 3/4 cups tuvar dal soaked in water for 5 hours


  • 1 tbsp salt or more


  • 1 nos onion sliced


  • 2 nos tomatoes finely chopped


  • 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp red chili powder


  • 1/2 tsp all spice powder


  • 2 inch cinnamon stick


  • 1 nos bay leaf


  • 325 ml water


  • 1 nos for tadka:onion finely chopped


  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 3 nos whole red chilly


  • 2 nos garlic cloves chopped


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 2 tbsp oil

Directions

  • In a pressure cooker add all above mentioned things and cover the lid.
  • Give it 6 to 7 whistles or cook for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Open the lid and mix it very thoroughly.
  • Heat oil and ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, onion, garlic and red chilly. Let it crackled.
  • Pour this Tadka in daal and mix it well.
  • Serve this restaurant style mix Daal with paratha or chapati and zeera rice.
