The chicken should be bought as large pieces - the legs,wings ,breast should be whole and not cut into small pieces.
Wash it thoroughly and saute in a pressure cooker with 1 teaspoon oil.
Then add turmeric powder,1 teaspoon salt,ginger garlic paste, chicken masala powder and stir well
Then add 1 cup of water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles
Once pressure is released naturally,allow the chicken to cool and shred them into small pieces with hand.the long bones will be intact. This process of shredding the chicken is called pichupodudhal in tamil and hence the name of the recipe.
In a kadai heat the remaining oil and temper with mustard seeds,urad dal and curry leaves.
Then add thinly sliced onions,slit green chillies,salt and stir well.
Now add the shredded chicken and cook in high flame till all the water dries up.
Finally add pepper powder, stir well and serve hot.
