Ingredients
Serves 4
Chicken with bones 1 kgs
Onion-chopped 2 nos
Tomato-chopped 2 nos
Ginger Garlic Paste 2 tsp
turmeric powder 1 tsp
Curry Leaves 1 sprig
coriander leaves stalks 2 nos
Salt 1 1/2 tsp
Oil 3 tbsp
To saute and grind : Shallots Onion 6 nos
Red Chili 6 nos
Black Pepper 1 tsp
Poppy Seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Coconut Grated 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
Fennel Fennel Seeds1/2 tsp
For Tempering:Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Cloves 3 nos
Cinnamon Stick 1 nos
Directions
Cut and clean the chicken to bite sized pieces and add 1 tsp of ginger & garlic paste and turmeric powder,1/2 tsp of salt and mix it well.
In 1 tsp of oil, saute the given ingredients under saute and grind except coriander powder for couple of minutes.Finally add the coriander powder and mix it well.Let it cool down and grind it to a fine paste.
Heat a pan with oil and do the tempering,saute the onion,curry leaves till transparent and add the remaining ginger&garlic paste.Fry it for a minute.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook it till mushy,then add the chicken and mix it well.Let it cook it a medium flame for 5 minutes and stir it in between.
Now add the ground paste and mix it well,add the salt and 2 cups of water,cook it covered in a medium flame till the chicken gets tender and cooked well.
Finally sprinkle the chopped coriander leaves and put off the flame.
Serve hot with rice, idly, dosa, chapathi etc.,
