Buttermilk Juicy Fried Chicken

  • 500 gms chicken pieces

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp ginger powder

  • 1 tsp thyme

  • 1 cups buttermilk

  • 1/2 cups all purpose flour/ maida

  • 2 tbsp corn flour

  • 1 tsp paprika powder

  • 1 tsp chilli flakes

  • 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper

  • 3/4 tsp salt or to taste

  • 2 cups oil for frying


  • In a mixing bowl pour buttermilk, add garlic powder, ginger powder and chilli flakes. Mix it well. Add chicken pieces in it. Mix it well
  • Refrigerate this marinated chicken for atleast 2 hours or over night.
  • In another pan add all purpose flour, corn flour, paprika powder, thymes, salt and crushed black pepper. mix well.
  • Take one by one chicken pieces. Roll them into flour mixture then dip in buttermilk mixture then roll again in flour mixture.
  • Do this with all the pieces. Refrigerate them for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a wok. Deep fry them on a medium high flame for 10 -15 minutes or till deep golden brown from both sides.
  • Serve it hot with garlic mayonnaise.
