Ingredients

Serves 4

  • FOR MARINATION:Chicken 500 gms

  • Mint Leaves 1/2 cups

  • Coriander Leaves 1/4 cups

  • green chillies 3 nos

  • Yoghurt 1/2 cups

  • Ginger Paste 1 tsp

  • Garlic Paste 1 tsp

  • Coriander Powder 1 tsp

  • Red Chili Powder 1/2 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • Salt or more to taste 1 tsp

  • cumin powder 1/2 tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder 1/4 tsp

  • chopped onion 1/4 cups

  • FOR GRAVY: fInely sliced onions 2 nos

  • ginger paste 1 tsp

  • garlic paste 1 tsp

  • green chilli chopped 1 nos

  • Cinnamon Stick 1/2 inch

  • Black cardamom 1 nos

  • Ol 3 tbsp

  • medium tomotoes chopped or pureed 2 nos

  • Coriander Powder 1 tsp

  • Red Chili Powder 1/2 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • Salt or more (adjust to taste) 1 tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder 1/4 tsp

Directions

    Clean chicken legs and make gashes or cuts for the marinade to penetrate through.

    Except chicken blend all ingredients as mentioned under marination

    Mix the marinade into the chicken legs and keep aside for at least two hours.

    Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan.

  • 05

    Add the whole spices and let them crackle

  • 06

    Now add the sliced onions and saute till light brown.

  • 07

    To this add the tomatoes and saute for a while.

    Add the spices.

    To this now add the marinated chicken.

    Cover and cook on medium flame for 15 minutes.

    Then reduce flame to low and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Serve hot with rice or rotis
