Soak the green gram for 30minutes prior cooking
Pressure cook the gram using the same water upto 2 whistles or until soft
Boil the sweet potato and deskin and chop into cubes after it’s cool
Melt butter in a wok or a non stick pan and sauté the onions and garlic until the garlic brown and onions become translucent
Add the sweet potatoes and sauté for another 5 minutes
Finally add the green gram with the water used for cooking,salt,pepper,paprika, all spice powder
Combine all the ingredients well and add a cup of water
Reduce heat and let the soup simmer for 5-7 minutes or till the desired thickness is achieved and then add the coconut milk.
Mix and take off heat
Serve hot in soup bowls with accompaniment of your choice
