Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Brown Rice 1/2 cups

  • Full Fat Milk 1 litre

  • Cashew Nuts 10-12 nos

  • Almonds 10-12 nos

  • Grated Jaggery 150 gms

  • Saffron Strands 6-7 nos

  • Chee 2 tbsp

  • Green Cardamom 3 nos

Directions

    1-Soak brown rice with a cup of water for 1 hour and drain the excess water.2. In a heavy bottomed pan boil the milk with Cardamom.3. Meanwhile coarsely grind the strained rice for about 30-40 seconds.4. Pour the rice to the boiling milk and let it cook for about 30-40 minutes.5. Soak the saffron with 2 tbsp of milk and keep aside.6. Keep mixing the rice and scrap from the sides of the pan to avoid burning.7. Take ghee in a tadka pan and roast the chopped nuts.

    8. Add the roasted nuts into the kheer & save some for platting.9. Cool and serve.
