Soak tamarind overnight and drain the juice in a bowl
In some oil add mustard seeds and let them crackle, chopped chilly, garlic cloves and curry leaves
Add some water in besan and whisk it to avoid lump. it should be runny and smooth.
Add tamarind water and jaggery in the pan. add salt and stir it well
Add the besan and stirr continuosly to avoid lump formation
Add water as desired and serve chilled/ hot
