Boil water in a heavy bottom bowl. Meanwhile take ragi powder and mix in little water without any lumps.
Add the ragi paste into the boiling water. Boil the ragi mixture till it's done. Ragi koozh will be ready within 5 minutes. Let it cool and keep it aside.
Beat the curd well with a spoon or fork and mix it in the cooled ragi mixture.
Add salt to taste and add chopped shallots.
Simple, healthy summer thirst quencher is ready within few minutes.
