  • 1 kgs mutton

  • 1/2 cups mustard oil

  • 2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 3 nos onions sliced

  • 2 tbsp garlic crushed

  • 2 tbsp garlic chopped

  • 2 tbsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 4-5 nos green chilli chopped

  • 3 nos tomatoes finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp deshi ghee

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp green coriander leaves finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • 1 tbsp nutmeg grated


  • Nutmeg grined them into a powder using a mixcuer grinder.
  • Nutmeg powder and garam masala mix well and keep it a side
  • Heat mustured oil in a heavy bottom pan to smoking point and cumin seeds.
  • Add onions, Green chilli, ginger, garlic and saute for 10 minutes.
  • Add red chilly powdere, turmuric powder and mix it properly.add tomatoes salt and sugar.
  • Let it cook for 15 to 20 minuteson midiom flams till tomatos are soft. and the oil has risen on the top sprinkell littel water.
  • Now mix mutton and let it cook for 20 to 25 minuts till it is rich and fully coated with all spices.
  • Add ghee for the flavors. cover the pan with a lid. and let the mutton cook in its own juices for about 30 to 45 minuts.
  • Half way through, sprinkel 1 big tablespoon garam masala.
  • Once the mutton is tender,add some chhoped coriender, lime juice and serve hot.
  • Serve himachali mutton Rarra along with some steemd rice, fulkas ar paratha.
