Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 300 gms for minceballs (koftas): goat minced meat


  • 1/2 nos small onion finely chopped


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1 tsp salt as needed


  • 2 tsp garlic ginger paste


  • 2 nos green chilli


  • 1/8 cups coriander leaves chopped


  • 2 nos for gravy: onions


  • 1 nos tomato


  • 2 nos green chillies chopped


  • 1 nos bay leaf


  • 2 nos green cardamom


  • 1/2 inch cinnamon


  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 3 tbsp oil for cooking


  • 2 cups water around


  • 1/8 cups coriander leaves chopped for garnish

Directions

  • FOR MEATBALLS (KOFTAS): Clean and drain water from mince.
  • Grind and make a smooth paste of onions, green chilli , ginger garlic and coriander leaves. Do not add water
  • Mix all the dry spices mentioned, onion-ginger garlic paste and mince well till uniformly combined
  • Dab hands with a little water and form round smooth koftas.
  • FOR GRAVY: Heat oil in a heavy saucepan.
  • Tip in the whole spices. Let them splutter.
  • Add the onions and saute till pinkish . Add a quarter cup water.To this add the koftas.
  • Also add all the mentioned spice powders
  • Let it boil on medium to low flame till water dries.
  • Add the tomato and saute till koftas turn brown. Be gentle with the koftas
  • Add around 1.5 to 2 cups water and let the koftas simmer on low to medium heat for 40 to 50 minutes till oil floats on top
  • Serve with rotis and kachumar
