Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1 kgs mutton ,cut in small pieces


  • 1 tsp lemon juice


  • 2 tsp roasted cumin powder


  • 1 tsp garam masala or mutton masala


  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger garlic paste


  • 3-4 nos crushed green chillies


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/2 cups fresh coriander leaves


  • 2 nos bay leaves


  • 2 nos black cardamon


  • 1 nos cinnamon stick


  • 3-4 nos cloves


  • 2-3 nos powdered green cardamon


  • 2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1 tsp red chilly powder


  • 3-4 nos finely chopped onion


  • 6 nos finely chopped tomatoes


  • 2-3 tbsp curd


  • 2 tbsp oil


  • 3 tbsp ghee(clarified butter)


  • 1 tsp salt to taste

Directions

  • Wash mutton pieces thoroughly.
  • Take mutton pieces into a bowl.
  • Add lemon juice, Turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp mutton masala, curd, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and little salt and mix well.
  • Cover the bowl and let it marinate for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour in a pan heat 2 tblspn oil and add all the whole spices and roast till aromatic.
  • Add marinated mutton pieces and cook for 10-15 minutes on low flame.
  • Cook mutton pieces from all the sides.
  • Now in a pressure cooker heat up ghee.
  • Add chopped onion and green chillies.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste, chopped tomatoes and all dry spices.
  • Cook until oil separates.
  • Add cooked mutton pieces and mix well.
  • Add water as required.
  • Close the lid and cook on low flame for 20-25 minutes.
  • Open the lid and garnish with fresh Coriander Leaves.
  • Serve hot with roti or rice.
