Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 500 gms mutton marinade, mutton


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 2 tbsp mustard oil


  • 2 nos for the curry, eggs hard boiled


  • 2 nos potatoes


  • 1/2 tsp radhuni (celery seeds)


  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds


  • 2 nos bay leaf


  • 2 nos onion sliced


  • 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste


  • 2 nos green chillies


  • 1 nos tomatoes-chopped


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1/2 tsp sugar


  • 1 tsp for the spice mix, cumin seeds


  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds


  • 2 nos dried red chillies


  • 1 nos mace


  • 1 nos black cardamom


  • 3 nos green cardamon


  • 1 inch cinnamon stick


  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder


  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions

  • Wash and clean the mutton. Marinate the mutton with the ingredients curd, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt, Ginger garlic paste, mustard oil that are mentioned under marination.
  • Marinate the mutton for 2-4 hours.
  • Dry roast the ingredients mentioned under spice mix and grind it coarsely.
  • Marinate the boiled eggs and potatoes with a little turmeric powder and salt,keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • Take oil in a pressure cooker, fry the hard boiled eggs till lightly golden in color.
  • Fry the potatoes till golden brown.
  • Add some more mustard oil, to that add radhuni, fenugreek seeds and bay leaf.
  • Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cover in cook till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
  • After 2 minutes add the chopped tomatoes and a tablespoon of the spice mix.
  • Once the tomatoes turn soft add the marinated mutton and rest of the spice mix, Salt and sugar.
  • Keep stirring and sauteing till the oil starts releasing from the sides, take almost about 10 minutes on a medium flame.
  • Add a little water and pressure cook for 10-12 minutes on a low flame after the 1st whistle.
  • Release the pressure, add the fried potatoes and pressure cook for another 5-7 minutes on low flame.
  • Allow the pressure to release on it's own.
  • Open the lid and add the boiled eggs. Mix well and serve hot with steamed rice.
