Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cups chickpeas soaked.overnight


  • 1 cups green lentils


  • 1/4 cups fresh parsley


  • 2 tsp all purpose flour


  • 1 nos onion


  • 5-6 nos garlic cloves


  • 1 nos green chilli


  • 1 tsp cumin powder


  • 1 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder


  • 1 tsp roasted sesame seeds


  • 1 tsp black pepper powder


  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 pinch baking soda


  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 cups oil

Directions

  • Drain and rinse the soaked chickpeas and green lentils
  • Put them in a food processor alongwith chopped onions, garlic parsley, lemon.juice, coriander powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chilli powder and cardamom powder.
  • Pulse.all ingredients till grainy texture is formed
  • Just before frying add baking soda, sesame seeds and salt. Mix well.
  • Heat oil in a skillet
  • Meanwhile make lemon size balls from falafel mixture
  • Once oil is hot fry the falafel balls over medium heat.
  • Serve hot with hummus or Tahini sauce
