Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • Crab : 1 kilo


  • Onions : 3 finely sliced


  • Tomatoes: 2 chopped


  • Ginger garlic: 1 tbsp crushed


  • Shallots : 7 to 8 sliced


  • Green chillies: 2 slit


  • Curry leaves: 2 strands


  • Fenugreek seeds: 1/4 tsp


  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp


  • Red chilli powder: 1 tbsp


  • Coriander powder: 1 tbsp


  • Garam masala powder: 1 tbsp


  • Salt: 1 tsp


  • Coconut oil: 4 tbsp

Directions

  • Clean and chop the crabs and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a round bottom pan or kadai.
  • Add 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds and curry leaves and toss for few seconds.
  • Add green chillies and crushed ginger garlic and saute for a minute.
  • Add onions and shallots with enough salt and saute till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they turn mushy.
  • Add all the dry spice powders and mix well.
  • Add the crab pieces and mix well so that the masala coats every single piece.
  • Add 2 cups of hot water and cover and cook for 15 mins.
  • After 15 mins open the lid and sprinkle few curry leaves and switch off the flame.
