Ingredients

Serves 4

  • fresh okras 250 gms

  • tomato 1 nos

  • curd whisked 2 tbsp

  • mustard seeds 2 tsp

  • green chillies 2 nos

  • garlic flakes 5 nos

  • paanch phutana (mix of cumin, mustard, aniseed, fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds) 1/2 tsp

  • curry leaves 3 nos

  • coriander leaves chopped 1 tbsp

  • mustard oil 2 tbsp

  • water 1 cups

  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

  • salt 3/4 tsp

Directions

    half crush the mustard seeds, green chillies and garlic with little water

  • 02

    then add tomato in the mixer and make a paste

  • 03

    cut the okras into 1 inch pieces

  • 04

    heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and half cook the okras and keep it aside

  • 05

    heat 1 tbsp oil in the same pan and add the paanch phutana and curry leaves

  • 06

    when it starts spluttering, add the paste and turmeric powder

  • 07

    cook the paste for 5 minutes on medium flame

  • 08

    then add salt, okras, water and cook the okras in the gravy till fully cooked

  • 09

    then add curd and coriander leaves

  • 10

    cook for 1 minute

  • 11

    switch off the flame and serve hot with steamed rice
