Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups besan/gram flour


  • 1/4 tsp asafoetida


  • 3 tbsp oil


  • 1 tsp salt as per taste


  • 1/2 cups water


  • 4 cups oil for deep frying

Directions

  • mix flour, asafoetida and salt in a bowl
  • add oil and mix well
  • add water slowly to make soft and smooth dough
  • cover the dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes
  • grease the dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes
  • grease the sev maker with attachment
  • fill the dough in sev maker
  • heat oil im a pan on medium heat
  • when oil becomes hot, hold the sev maker over pan and press the handle
  • sev will start coming out into the oil
  • slowly move the sev maker in circular motion
  • as you complete one circle, stop
  • fry both sides till they becomes light golden colour and oil will stop sizzling
  • take them out on absorbent paper
  • continue the same process for the remaining dough
  • let the sev cool completely and store in an air tight container
