  • 1 litre full fat milk

  • 150 gms sugar

  • 1 tsp cardamom powder


  • boil the milk in a deep kadai on high flame stirring continuously
  • now reduce the flame to medium and cook for 20-25 minutes or till the milk reduces to half its quantity, stirring occasionally and scraping the sides of the pan
  • add the sugar, mix well and cook till the mixture resembles mawa, stirring continuously
  • transfer the khoya to a plate, spread witb the help of a spatula and keep aside to cool for 15-20 minutes
  • add the cardamom powder and mix well
  • divide the mixture into 16 equal portions and make pedas
  • serve or store in an air tight container
