Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 1 tbsp ghee


  • 1/2 cups grated carrot


  • 1/2 cups grated beetroot


  • 1/4 cups grated bottlegourd


  • 2 cups milk


  • 1 tsp crushed cardamom


  • 1/2 cups sugar or as per taste


  • 3 tbsp malai


  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds for garnishing

Directions

  • heat ghee in a kadai
  • add the grated carrot, beetroot and bottlegourd and saute for 5 minutes on medium flame
  • now add milk and let it boil, stirring continuously
  • when it starts boiling add cardamom powder and sugar, keep mixing
  • once the mixture becomes thick add malai and cook for 5 more minutes on low flame
  • when the mixture leaves the sides of the pan, halwa is ready
  • switch off the flame
  • garnish with chopped almonds and serve hot
