Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/2 cups whole urad dal


  • 1 tbsp maida


  • 3/4 cups sugar


  • 1/2 cups water


  • 1/4 tsp elachi powder


  • 1 cups oil

Directions

  • Wash and soak the urad dal for 1 hr to 1 ½ hrs.  Then drain the water completely. Grind it into a smooth and soft paste with very little water.
  • Take the ground batter to a bowl and add 1 tbsp of  maida. Mix them well.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. With wet hands take small size balls out of the batter and drop into the hot oil. 
  • Fry till golden brown then drain the oil and drop it into the sugar syrup. and then serve.
  • Sugar syrup:
  • Mix the water and sugar together in a bowl. Bring it to boil till the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Cook till the syrup becomes little bit thick.
  • Then add elachi powder. Syrup is ready.
