Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Whole Urad Dal 1/2 cups

  • Maida 1 tbsp

  • Sugar 3/4 cups

  • Water 1/2 cups

  • Elachi powder 1/4 tsp

  • Oil 1 cups

Directions

    Wash and soak the urad dal for 1 hr to 1 ½ hrs.  Then drain the water completely. Grind it into a smooth and soft paste with very little water.

    Take the ground batter to a bowl and add 1 tbsp of  maida. Mix them well.

    Heat oil in a kadai. With wet hands take small size balls out of the batter and drop into the hot oil.

    Fry till golden brown then drain the oil and drop it into the sugar syrup. and then serve.

    Sugar syrup:

    Mix the water and sugar together in a bowl. Bring it to boil till the sugar dissolves completely.

    Cook till the syrup becomes little bit thick.

    Then add elachi powder. Syrup is ready.
