amla (Indian gooseberry) 250 gms
Sugar 150 gms
Black salt 1/4 tsp
Boil 4 cups water in a deep pan. Add in cleaned amlas and cook for 2 minutes.
Switch off the flame and let the amla sit in boiling water for another 5 minutes.
Strain the amlas and slice it with knife.
Add sugar over the amlas and keep aside for a day so Amla soaks up sufficient sugar syrup.
Strain the amla and spread in clean cloth and keep it under direct sunlight for 2-3 days.
Sprinkle black salt over amla candies and store in airtight container.
