Pressure cook toor dal with 1/2 litre water for 5 whistles and mash well along with the water
Crush garlic , pepper and jeera coarsely and add to dal water.
Add turmeric and salt
Add i finely chopped tomato after crushing with hand.
Heat ghee in a tadka pan and add mustardseeds,broken chillies, asafoetida and curry leaves.
Add the tempering to the dal water and add finely chopped coriander leaves.
Simmer this till froth appears.
Switch off and add the lemon juice and stir well
Serve hot with steamed rice
