Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • 4 cups cooked rice


  • 1/2 cups almonds


  • 1/2 cups peanuts


  • 1/2 cups roasted bengal gram


  • 1/2 cups cornflakes


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 4 nos dry red chillies


  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


  • 1 tbsp chaat masala


  • 1/4 cups curry leaves

Directions

  • First of all, dry the cooked rice under direct sunlight for nearly 2 days.
  • Deep fry this sun dried cooked rice in hot oil until golden brown.
  • In the same oil, fry peanuts,roasted bengal gram, curry leaves and cornflakes.
  • Also fry green chillies if desired. These are however optional.
  • Fry almonds too.
  • Combine all these in a big mixing bowl.
  • Sprinkle salt and red chilli powder along with chaat masala.
  • Squeeze lemon juice just before serving.
  • This is my innovative idea with the leftover rice. It will definitely make for an awesome namkeen idea for tea-time.
