  • phyllo dough packet 1 nos

  • chopped walnut 1 cups

  • melted butter 1 cups

  • ground cinnamon 1 tsp

  • water 1 cups

  • sugar 1 cups

  • vanilla extract 1 tsp

  • honey 1/2 cups

  • pistachio 1 tbsp

    Preheat oven to 175 degree c. Butter up your desire size of baking dish or pan.

    Blend nuts with cinnamon to granules like texture and keep aside. Unroll phyllo dough cut them according size of your baking pan.

    Place 2 sheets and brush them up with melted butter. Stack 8 to 12 sheets like that. Spread nut mixture over the sheet and cover it with another phyllo dough and brush it with melted butter. Continue the process until nut mixture all used(will be three layers). End up with 8 sheets on top brushing melted butter on each sheet.

    Let it rest for 30 minutes to set. After 30 minutes cut it square like shape with a sharp knife. Bake 55 minutes or until it turns light golden in color and crispy.

    When its baking make the sauce. Take 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar and boil until sugar melted properly. Simmer the flame and let it boil for 15 minutes more. Now add honey and vanilla extract and mix well.

    After baklava is baked and hot pour the sugar syrup on it. Rest it for half and hour to absorb the sugar syrup on it. Then serve.
