Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Minced meat (goat kid) 1/2 kgs

  • Fried gram 1 cups

  • onion 1 nos

  • ginger 1/2 inch

  • Garlic cloves 3 nos

  • Coconut pieces 1/4 cups

  • Cinnamon 1/2 inch

  • Cloves 3 nos

  • green chillies 3 nos

  • Fennel seed 1 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  • Salt to taste 1/2 tsp

  • Coriander leaves 1/2 cups

  • Ingredients for making kurma: Onion chopped 1 nos

  • tomato 3 nos

  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp

  • Chilli powder 1 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  • coconut shredded 1/4 tsp

  • Fennel seed 1/2 tsp

  • Oil 1/4 tsp

  • Salt to taste 1/2 cups

  • Coriander leaves for garnishing 2 cups

Directions

    Grind fried gram in a blender. Keep the powder aside.

    Boil minced meat with salt and turmeric powder for 10 minutes. Strain the broth and keep it aside. This will be used for making kurma.

    Grind all the other ingredients coarsely and mix with cooled cooked kheema. Add coriander leaves and fried gram to the mixture.

    Make ground kheema mixture into small balls. Steam the balls for 15 minutes. Keep it aside.

    Heat oil in a wok. Add chopped onion and saute well for a minute. Add ginger garlic paste to it. Let the raw smell disappear.

    Add chopped tomatoes to it and saute well. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.

    Add kheema broth to the mixture. Let it boil for few minutes.

    Grind shredded coconut and fennel seed together with little water and keep it aside.

    Add steamed kheema balls to the boiling broth. Add ground coconut paste to it with a cup of water. Let it cook for few minutes.

  • 10

    Add chopped coriander leaves for garnishing. Mutton kheema balls kurma is ready to serve with hot rice or any Indian breads.
