Ingredients

Serves : 15
  • 1/4 cups butter


  • 1/2 cups dry mixed slivered nuts


  • 400 gms condensed milk can


  • 1 tsp cardamom powder

Directions

  • TO A PAN, ADD BUTTER AT FIRST.
  • FOLLOWED BY 2 CANS OF CONDENSED MILK
  • GREASE A DISH AND SET ASIDE
  • KEEP STIRRING THE CONDENSED MILK AND BUTTER MIX CONTINUOUSLY FOR ABOUT 25-30 MINUTES ON A LOW HEAT
  • AFTER IT THICKENS A BIT, ADD THE CARDAMOM POWDER.
  • KEEP STIRRING IT UNTIL IT CHANGES IT'S COLOUR AND THICKENS.
  • WHEN IT COMES TOGETHER AS A SOLID MASS AND LEAVES THE SIDES OF THE PAN
  • REMOVE IT FROM THE FIRE AND POUR INTO THE GREASED DISH
  • GARNISH WITH SOME CHOPPED MIXED NUTS.
  • LET IT COOL DOWN IN THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE CUTTING INTO DESIRED SHAPES
  • THIS IS POPULAR HALWA FROM THE STATE OF OMAN IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THIS IS USUALLY SERVED WITH THE TRADITIONAL DRINK QAHWA. THIS IS A POPULAR SIGHT AT EVERY WEDDING IN THE STATE.
