First of all add the chilli powder turmeric ginger garlic paste and salt to the rice and mix well. Keep aside.Heat the oil. Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
After they crackle, add the dry red chillies and onions.
After sauteeing for 2 mins, add the chana dal and the peanuts.
Once they are done, add the tamarind paste or water.
Now stir in the rice and give it a good mix.
Make an omelette with the eggs and cut into bite size strips.
Garnish with roasted cashews coriander and egg strips.
Serve this splendid rice steaming hot with any dry sabzi or just as it is. Either way it tastes yummy.
This is my innovative take on the most popular rice from Andhra, famously known as poor man's food
