Soak black channa overnight for 7 hours.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and temper it with mustard seed, fennel seed and cloves. Add chopped onion and saute well.
Add tomatoes and saute well till mushy. Add soaked black channa with sambhar powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
Pressure cook for 20 minutes Grind coconut with fennel seed and make a paste. Add coconut paste to the kadala curry and garnish it with coriander leaves. Kadala curry is ready for Puttu.
Boil water with salt as per the taste. Sprinkle salted hot water to the rice flour and mix till its crumbly mixture.
Take a puttu maker and fill grated coconut and rice flour alternately and steam for 10 minutes. It's done. Serve Rice Puttu with kadala curry.
