Ingredients
Serves 6
Wholewheat flour 1 cups
Refined flour 1/2 cups
Roasted and ground oats 1/2 cups
Ground almonds 1/2 cups
Chickpea flour (besan) 2 tbsp
Powdered sugar 1 cups
Oil 1/2 cups
Ghee 1/2 cups
Cardamom powder 2 tsp
Baking powder 1/2 tsp
Directions
In a wide vessel combine wholewheat flour, refined flour, chickpea flour, ground oats, ground almonds, sugar powder, baking powder and cardamom powder
Slowly add ghee and oil to the flour mixture and mix gently.
Initially flour will have breadcrumbs texture but soon all the flour will come together to form a dough.
The dough should be firm but not hard.
Preheat oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes
In the meanwhile form equal size balls from the dough
Each ball should be weighing around 15 to 18 grams.
Mark.a slight cross with a knife one each ball. Do not cut deep.
Place all the balls on a greased baking tray
Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
Then lower temperature to 160 degrees Celsius and bake for 10 minutes more.
When slightly brown take out the nankhatais from the oven.
Cool and enjoy.
Store in airtight container.
