Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1/2 cups maize flour


  • 1/2 cups brown sugar


  • 1/3 cups chopped and toasted walnuts


  • 2 nos eggs


  • 1/2 tsp baking powder


  • 1/8 tsp baking soda


  • 1/4 tsp salt


  • 60 gms soft butter


  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180, line cake mould. Sieve dry ingredients keep it aside
  • Mix butter and sugar well. Add 1 egg at a time and blend using hand mixer until frothy
  • Add dry ingredients slowly, cut and fold gently until well combined
  • Add half of chopped walnuts and use remaining for decorating. If frosting cake, then add all walnuts and gently mix
  • Pour the batter in prepared cake mould. Bake for 18-25 minutes until done.
  • Cool cake for 20 minutes, demould the cake and allow to cool completely. Serve As is or frost and serve
