Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1/3 cups scented jeera rice


  • 1 1/2 litre milk


  • 1/2 cups sugar


  • 1 tsp cardamom powder


  • 2 nos bay leaf


  • 1/2 cups chopped nuts( cashews, raisins, pistachios, almonds)


  • 1 tsp ghee

Directions

  • Boil milk in deep pan with bay leaf
  • Add the washed rice in the milk and continue boiling in medium flame till the rice is cooked
  • Stir in between so that the milk don’t stick or burn from the bottom of the pan
  • Add cardamom powder and sugar and boil till the milk reduces to half
  • Off the flame and let it cool
  • Roast the chopped fry fruits in ghee and mix it with the ready Payesh or payesam
  • Serve warm or cold.
