  • 1/4 kgs okra (ladies finger) - round thinly cut.

  • 8 nos shallots - crushed.

  • 8 nos garlic - crushed

  • 8 nos red chilli (or chillipowder as per taste) - crushed if not powder

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 3 tbsp scraped coconut.

  • 1 tsp salt (or as per taste)

  • 3 nos curry leaves

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil


  • Heat pan and add crushed Shallots, Garlic, Red chilli (if not chillipowder), and Curry leaves.
  • Stir until golden brown on low flame.
  • Add Turmeric powder, Okra (and chillipowder if not crushed red chilli) and stir under medium flame.
  • Add scraped coconut, stir on low flame and keep it closed for less than 2 minutes.
  • Add salt and stir under low flame.
  • Serve with Rice or Chapathi (or with any other main course as per your wish).
