grated coconut 1/2 cups
roasted peanut 1/2 cups
sliced tomatoes 3/4 cups
For tempering:coriander fruits 1.5 tsp
bengal gram 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds 1.5 tsp
asafoetida 1 pinch
curry leaves 2-3 sprig
oil 1 tbsp
Salt 1 tbsp
water 1/4 cups
Heat oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds,coriander fruits,bengal gram , asafoetida.Saute for a minute.
Now add sliced tomatoes. Turn the knob to a medium flame for 3 minutes or until it turns tender . Then turn off the flame.
Take a clean and dry mixie jar. Transfer the seasoned mix to it.
Add grated coconut,roasted peanuts(with skin).
Grind the above mix to get a coarse powder,add water to get a thin consistency like that of chutney.
Serve as an accompaniment with dosa/idli/upma.
